Walsh Pasulka Revises Position on Police Reports

Dr. Diana Walsh Pasulka seemingly reversed her position on her claim she reported an alleged Jan. 10 computer hack to police agencies after no corresponding records were located. A Feb. 6 post at The UFO Trail reported public records requests were submitted to three police agencies, including her university police, and no files of the January incident were found. Walsh Pasulka did not respond to an email which posed relevant questions and offered her an opportunity to comment for the blog post. She opted instead to take to Facebook to post about bot attacks, suggest she was targeted by forces attempting to silence her UFO research, and seek character support from ufology associates after the article was published.

Below is a Feb. 8 Facebook post, followed by a Jan. 28 post. Both are by Walsh Pasulka. The first suggests this writer read her statements incorrectly, and that she never claimed to report the January alleged hack to police. She goes on to suggest she intended to report it later but never did so.

The Jan. 28 post, some 18 days after the alleged hack, stated otherwise. She wrote, "Jan 10 2020 my Twitter Account and emails were hacked. I reported the incidents to my university IT Police, and Police (as I did two years ago)."

The UNCW professor and author of American Cosmic was emailed and asked if she cared to comment for this blog post on how she squares the above discrepancy. She did not immediately respond.

  1. Man, I am getting so tired of the default response to critical questioning being claims of attack with intent to silence/disrupt. Its outrageous. You'd think someone who receives so much praise for being part of the academic world, and therefor more rationally minded, could just answer some questions without spinning it into tales of persecution

  3. I just heard on Market Place that Google, Facebook, etc. are going to prioritize the algorithms about only the truth regarding the Coronavirus. Does this mean they will prevent President Trump from stating that when the warm weather gets here, the virus will be gone and done with? Get used to it...fake news, disinformation, etc. etc. . I believe Ms. Pasulka believes she was hacked...as the intelligence community set her up to write American Cosmic and will take her down. I do not envy her situation!

  4. "I believe Ms. Pasulka believes she was hacked"
For the love of god..did you even read the screen shots of what she was claiming, and then denying??...its not that she believes she was hacked. Its what she originally claimed she did AFTER the alleged hack...

  5. I can not speak for Ms. Pasulka's statement and about what she did after the alleged hack. I can say that she has to be careful that she does not get the John Mack effect and lose her job or have to defend her job. If she is put in that position by her detractors and the skeptics (a rather good read, American Cosmic), I will recommend her a great lawyer, Danny Sheehan. I will be speaking to her soon and I will do my best to tell her how she was set up by Jim Semivan and his friends with To The Stars/CIA/Pentagon. And, BTW, if she did go on a rant about the Masons, so what? She is entitled to her opinion, or is she?

    1. No one has challenged her right to express her opinion. The issue at hand is only her public claims of being hacked, and the potential implications if said claims are outright lies. If she is lying about this, then that says something about her overall trustworthiness in relation to all claims which cannot be verified. This is the sort of the thing that is said to give yourself an image of importance, what else may she be saying to the same effect, without any truth behind it

    2. I'd add to your point, markov, that a potential whitewashing of the situation is at issue, along with facilitating ad hominem personal attacks against those who asked reasonable questions. That is a particularly concerning trend among academics we should expect to act as examples of professional research standards.

  6. This is not an ad hominem attack. Yes, the CIA handlers of Ms. Paluska are in overdrive doing the CIA screw up whitewash. Where is Gordon Novell when you need him? Jim Semivan and the ATIP people (Bigelow, etc.) commissioned Diana to write the book in 2012. The original manuscript was to be something to the effect of "The Gods of old are the ET's of today". I would suggest that the skeptics, in doing their jobs, are feeding into the whitewash now. The fingerprints of the CIA's and DOD/Pentagon's involvement with Diana will be covered up...no fingerprints here! Rosemary, I mean Mr . Benvinietse and Ms. Clinton, please erase the tapes, thank you!

  7. Jack - How can a university employ such a nut job? These schools seem to be incubators for mentally unstable folks. I'll spare you the details, but my daughter had a particularly out of control prof during her undergrad years. I complained to the dean about this nutjob and upon further review, said nutjob was fired. Rarely does the system work this well. Though I was shocked that the administration had no idea how erratic this prof's behavior was, even though it was common knowledge amongst the students.

  8. Jack - How can a country employ such a nut job? Theese states seem to be incubators for mentally unstable folks. I'll spare the details, but you all know them...Though I was shocked that the voters had no idea how erratic the president's behavior was, even though it was common knowledge amongst the White House staff. Now the President is asking for 15 billion dollars this annum for his new Space Force to militarize space against all international treaties. God help us all, Jack! And the U.S. intelligence agencies not only supported Ms. Palsulks's book, American Cosmic, but Jim Semivan asked her to write it at an invitation only UFO meeting at a millionaire's home in Bucks Co., Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly Love and the home of Independence Hall! Let us burn all her books and close these institutions called Universities!

  9. Surely, anyone who read AMERICAN COSMIC while sober realized back THEN that the author was a credulous flake, did they not?

    1. I will confess I've bought the book but have yet to read more than a few pages. I do plan to read it and hope to wind up with an informed opinion once I do.

In the meantime though my impression is this was a book written by a professor of religious studies where, I thought, she was going to argue modern UFO belief in America had similarities to religious beliefs. So far so good. Whether that is the case or not, she seems to have emerged from the book writing episode enthralled by the kind of unfounded rumors people have been peddling around UFOs for decades.

Maybe my assumptions about the book were off but I thought it was going to be more academic and impartial. Going by her performances on social media this doesn't feel like an interested but carefully distant observer academically chronicling but rather someone who decided to hope on into the Mystery Machine when it pulled up to the curb. Like she went to one Dead show and now is going to follow the band for awhile.

  10. I was sober when I read the book. I haven't had a drink or illegal drug in more than thirty years. She is far from a flake. Can't say that about you without doing a psychiatric consult on you, first, in person.
